SUNDAY, 8/5 from 2-9PM -> This Summer just keeps getting better and better.  Last Sunday at Goodness was the busiest yet, our guests blessed the crowd with amazing music and the vibe was damn near flawless.  This week we’re keeping the wins coming and teaming up with one of my favorite crews in Denver, The D.O.P.E. Game, for cocktails, music and more fun. D.O.P.E. stands for Don’t Oppress Positive Energy and these dudes are full of positivity, as anyone who comes out to join us for cocktails will soon see.

For Cocktails With The D.O.P.E. Game, I’ll be joined by the crew’s DJ, DJ Dozen, as well as the one and only DJ Squirt; two of my favorite young DJs in Denver.  Your friend Teej aka Turner Jackson and Denver’s favorite videographer Jeremy Pape will be your afternoon’s hosts, along with the rest of the crew, who’ll be hanging out on the patio all afternoon and giving PBRs to the first 50 people that come out.  As always, El Chingon will be putting other tacos to shame with their delicious assortment of carnitas, shrimp tacos & culinary magic while the agua frescas stay be flowing (this week’s special is Agua De Limon so think extra tasty lemonade, then think about mixing it with the strawberry aguas and try not to drool…lol).  The misters will be in effect, the music will be top notch & the vibe bordering pure nirvana on the Meadowlark’s beautiful patio (2701 Larimer St), so come join us.  Last not least, we’ll also be celebrating Phill’s Broncos & Bronsolini Birthday Bash, so if you see some girls going wilds to an Action Bronson son, they’re with him…LOL. 21+/No Cover.

El Chingon x Goodness menu for Sunday, 7/29.  This week’s special is Carne Adobada tacos and we’ll be debuting mango agua frescas too (as well as featuring the weekly classics of strawberry and pineapple, try them mixed if you haven’t already).  Little things like this are why Sunday is my favorite day of the week.

So here we are, close to the 4th Saturday of the month and still barely a mention of The Solution Showcase #8…What gives?  Here’s what happened, due to a miscommunication between the Meadowlark and a charity event that was original scheduled for 7/28 (the date The Solution Showcase #8 was originally set for), the venue ended up being double-booked for a significant portion of the time that we’d be throwing the event.  Not being the type to argue with a charity, we decided to postpone the Solution Showcase for the month of July, but that’s not the interesting part of the story.

Here’s where it gets interesting. I had already booked the planned out of town guest for The Solution Showcase #8, Okayplayer favorite and Los Angeles-based, Providence-bred MC/DJ Theo Martins before getting the news and, having a great relationship with the Meadowlark & Red Bull, they offered to cover the costs of bringing him out so we added him to the lineup for Goodness on Sunday, 7/29 (I hope you already know about Goodness, my new weekly Sunday afternoon party on the Meadowlark’s beautiful patio /// 2701 Larimer St).

So now you can catch Theo Martins, rapping and spinning, as well as the original planned lineup for Goodness; myself, Denver legend DJ Chonz, the very dope and highly slept-on DJ Ear Attent and guest hosts Jessica Simmons (the infamous Solution bartender) and man about town DenverFrank in celebrating the 4 year anniversary of his infamous Denver culture blog, DenverFrank.net.  The lineup is stacked and in Goodness tradition, there’s no cover, so come on down for what promises to be a great day (and a good chance to win a Frank151 Denver Diggers hat). SUNDAY, 7/29 from 2-9PM -> We’re celebrating culture blog DenverFrank.net‘s 4 Year Anniversary with a ridiculous lineup at Goodness.  It’ll be me, special guests Denver legend DJ Chonz & criminally underrated DJ Ear Attent, guest hosts DenverFrank (the man himself) & Jessica Simmons (aka the Solution bartender and my partner at Fifty/50, your new favorite Sunday night party).

Also, due to a random set of circumstances involving The Solution Showcase #8 being postponed til next month, we’ll have Okayplayer favorite, LA’s MC & DJ Theo Martins performing on the mic and turntables too (!!!!!), still with no cover.  El Chingon will be holding us down with an incredible taco menu, mango is the agua fresca special for the day & we might have another surprise or two in stoee on the Meadowlark’s beautiful patio (2701 Larimer St). 21+/No Cover.

SUNDAY, 7/22 from 2-9PM -> Last month I asked my Radio Bums brethren, the ‘now retired from DJing to focus on his culinary endeavors’ Chef David Lopez aka DJ Psycho to come out of retirement to do guest spot at Goodness and that conversation somehow magically snowballed into the blessing of us having El Chingon tacos at the party every Sunday, all Summer.  That was one of the biggest wins of 2012, but there was no way I was gonna let any DJ as good as Psycho spend the whole Summer behind the grill.  So with that said, he’ll be stepping back behind the turntables, as well preparing special one day only menu (!!!!!) for the El Chingon Taco Takeover at Goodness on the Meadowlark’s patio (2701 Larimer St).

One of the things I wanted to do with Goodness was to match up great guest DJs who haven’t had a chance to spin together at the party, so I reached out to another renowned Colorado DJ, the one and only DJ B-Money to complete the lineup.  Me and B Money were talking about Goodness at The Solution Boulder a few weeks ago and next thing you know, we’ve got our homies, the very talented and acclaimed artists Casey Bolding & Kegan Black coming in to do some live art for y’all.  Between all that and the Meadowlark’s new mister system (a HUGE win this time of year), the party should leave all of your senses smiling. 21+/No Cover.

And oh yeah, and we officially added another hour to the party since we had been busy and going til 9PM both other Sundays anyway.  We do have to wrap up the party around 9 though, due to noise restrictions in the neighborhood.  For all the service industry types and party people looking to rock past 9PM, I’ll be announcing a fresh new Sunday night party very soon too.

P.S. The turnouts have been great every week and we’ve been loving the vibe y’all bring to the building for Goodness.  Outside of The Solution, I don’t think I’ve ever been involved in a party with so many smiling faces; it’s an amazing thing and I wanna thank everybody who’s been coming out for being a part of that.  Besides just me, all the DJs who’ve been coming through say you guys are great, everybody from El Chingon says the same thing and the Meadowlark’s been loving you too, so thank you for your support.  The rest of this Summer is just gonna get better, so stay tuned for more Summertime Goodness.

Menu for SUNDAY, 7/8 -> I said it before and I’ll say it again, Goodness teaming up with El Chingon is an epic food win for everybody involved.  At our first party together last month, Chef David Lopez (aka DJ Psycho) and crew sold a few hundred tacos on the Meadowlark’s patio (2701 Larimer St), adding a ton of new fans to the Cult of Chingon and taking the party to the next level.  This week’s menu subs in the wildly popular Camarones Chingones (jumbo shrimp) tacos for Carne Molida (ground beef) tacos as a permanent menu item, adds a vegetarian option with the Tacos Fresco and features Tacos De Pato (roasted duck!!!) as the special.  After inhaling a pair of delicious Carnitas Tacos and a pair of excellent Camarones Chingones Tacos last time around, I can’t wait wait to try the rest of the menu and start picking favorites.

SUNDAY, 7/8 from 2-8PM -> After two great parties in our first month, tons of people have been hitting me up about the latest installment of Goodness and me and special guests Es Nine (producer for Prime Element & more) and DJ Discord of the Crunk Brothers are excited to break out the crates of wax to get Sundays off to a proper start with an all vinyl edition of the party.  Not only are we playing all wax, but DJ Discord’s gonna be playing a set of all Brazilian vinyl from his trips to South America on some truly unprecedented Denver ish that should be perfect for a Summer afternoon.  As usual, El Chingon will be slanging the best tacos in town (I heard rumors of a duck taco special), Agua Fresca Especials will be flowing and you already read about how you’re set on music at what Denver culture blog The 4th Door calls “the best patio party in Denver” on the Meadowlark’s beautiful patio (2701 Larimer St).
