SUNDAY, 6/16 at 3pm -> The weather keeps getting hotter and so do things at Goodness w/DJ Low Key & friends; luckily we’re turning on the misters for the Summer season, so it all works out…LOL.  After last week’s international theme, this edition of Goodness is bringing things back to the states and focusing on all the best soul/R&B music in grand fashion.  Me, Renaissance man KDJ Above and longtime Denver favorite OG Bobby S have you more than covered on the turntables and keyboard mastermind Qknox will be topping off the day with his unique take on D’Angelo’s classic Voodoo album on the Rhodes piano (!!!!!).

As if that wasn’t enough, we’ll also be celebrating the birthdays of MC/Chubby Robot founder Opt Won and bartender extraordinaire Aimee Ott-Peterson, two party regulars/Denver fixtures that definitely know how to have a good time.  As usual, Moontower Tacos & Denver Dessert Trolley will be serving us incredible tacos & desserts, the vibe should be close to flawless and at 10PM, we’ll be closing things out with a Goodness Film Club screening of The Stax Records Story, which details the rise of one of music’s best soul music labels ever (home to the likes of Isaac Hayes, Otis Redding & countless more), during the civil rights era, on the Meadowlark’s beautiful patio. 2701 Larimer St / No Cover / 21+.

Sunday, 6/9 at 3pm -> International Goodness w/DJ Low Key, guests DJ Discord & DJ Haus, Moontower Tacos, Denver Dessert Trolley, Searching For Sugarman to close out the party & more on the Meadowlark’s patio…

SUNDAY, 6/9 -> Goodness w/DJ Low Key & friends is back with another Sunday full of magic as we officially mark a year since the party launched.  I couldn’t have asked for more great music and amazing people to come through since things kicked off and I’m already looking forward to years and years of the same fun as we continue on.

Back in the present, I’m really excited for Sunday’s International Goodness, as me, Crunk Brother extraordinaire DJ Discord & Boulder party fixture DJ Haus spin jams with from, and with, influences from all over the world, all afternoon long (US included…LOL…No cop out though).  Veteran of numerous pilgrimages to Brazil, Discord will be spin a funky Brazilian mix that dips into tropicalia, bossa nova & samba.  DJ Haus will be covering a variety of worldwide sounds, taking us on what he calls his “musical safari” that is sure to open up your ears to some great new sounds.  I’ll be doing what I can to compliment their deep catalogs of music and hopefully everybody leaves with some new favorite jams.

Moontower Tacos & Denver Dessert Trolley will be keeping us happy and fed all day, the vibe should be pretty fantastic and at 10PM, we’ll be closing things out with a Goodness Film Club screening of Searching For Sugar Man, the all but unbelievable yet true take of Rodriguez, an all but unknown 70s musician from Detroit turned unlikeliest South African music icon, on the Meadowlark’s magical patio. 2701 Larimer St / No Cover / 21+.

Sunday, 6/2 at 3pm -> All Vinyl Goodness w/DJ Low Key, DJ Psycho & Mike Disco on the Meadowlark’s patio + We’re welcoming back Moontower Tacos & Denver Dessert Trolley as weekly fixtures! Also, cookies for shoes for the Denver Shoe Drive & a screening of High Fidelity at 10pm!!!

SUNDAY, 6/2 at 3pm -> Last weekend’s double dose of Goodness w/DJ Low Key & friends was a smash, with Sunday’s Native Tongues Goodness with Mick (formerly Boogie) & Es Nine getting a “hell yea” from Michael Rapaport, director of Beats, Rhymes & Life:The Travels Of A Tribe Called Quest and Monday’s Bonus Goodness introducing two instant hits to the party, Moontower Tacos & Denver Dessert Trolley, while featuring an insane Kid Hum DJ + live beats set that stunned the crowd (video coming soon) and a masterful Deftimus Prime/Deftron set as we celebrated our homegirl Aisha’s birthday in grand fashion.

Classic weekends to kick off the Summer are motivation for more great parties and I’m super hyped for another one this Sunday, as we take the party analog for an all vinyl Goodness with award-winning Radio Bum OG turned El Chingon master chef David Lopez aka DJ Psycho and Beauty Bar/Down & Derby favorite Mike Disco joining me for 7 hours of wax flipping and crate stacking on the Meadowlark’s magical patio.

Great music goes without saying, but I’m also excited to announce that both Moontower Tacos and Denver Dessert Trolley are going to be joining the party on an ongoing basis (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!), which as far I’m concerned takes everything to another level.  As the countless people who left Monday’s Bonus Goodness raving about food already know, they’re two of the best dining options in town and adding their delicious menus and friendly faces to the weekly Goodness is gonna be AMAZING.  Moontower Tacos will be coming in with a different special and great menu every week and Jamie Secrest, head baker for the Denver Dessert Trolley is also taking requests for desserts, so feel free to hit her up on facebook.  We’ll be serving three refreshing flavors of agua frescas with Svedka and a whole lot more at the bar plus we have a newly upgraded sound system on the patio to make the cipher complete.

MONDAY, 5/27 -> Last Sunday was crazy good and it’s safe to say that Goodness w/DJ Low Key & friends is officially underway for Summer.  People have already started asking me how long the party is going to go for so they can make the most of it (the official 2013 season closer is 9/22, go ahead and put it on your calendar now) and I’m just like y’all, trying to make the most of Sumemr while it’s here.  On that note, I’m super excited to announce that we’re gonna have an extra bonus edition of Goodness on Memorial Day, the perfect compliment to Sunday’s Native Tongues Goodness.

So yeah, Bonus Goodness on Memorial Day w/me and specials guests Deftron and Kid Hum on the turntables as we go extra hard to celebrate our good friend Aisha’s birthday!  We’re also bringing in Moontower Tacos to flip up the menu for the day and Denver Dessert Trolley with some sweet desserts too.  Moontower Tacos recently opened up here in Denver and they’ve been bringing all sorts of creative, “Austin-style” tacos to CO, including their infamous Doggfather (Chicken & Waffle Taco), which they’ll have on hand at Goodness for your stomach and tastebuds’ delight.  Denver Dessert Trolley was started by former TAG dessert bar chef Jamie Seacrest, who’ll have Mexican chocolate brownies and some other goodies on hand on the Meadowlark’s incredible patio.  You already know we’ll have Jessica the Solution Bartender and Tara serving three delicious flavors of agua frescas with Svedka and a whole lot more at the bar, should make for a great Memorial Day!  2701 Larimer St/ No Cover / 21+.

Sunday, 5/26 -> Native Tongues Goodness w/DJ Low Key and special guests Mick Boogie (Brooklyn) & Es Nine (of Prime Element) on the Meadowlark’s patio + the launch of the Goodness Film Club at 10PM! Come celebrate everything Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, Jungle Brothers & crew related all day and night!!!

SUNDAY, 5/26 from 3pm-midnight -> With Monday being Memorial Day and most people having the day off, it’s only right that we have an extra special Goodness the day/night before.  This edition is extra special indeed, as we import world renowned DJ Mick Boogie (DJ for Jay-Z/Lebron, mixtapes w/Little Brother, Busta Rhymes) from Brooklyn and Prime Element’s own Es Nine to join me in celebrating the legendary Native Tongues crew.  Even if you don’t know the crew name, you know the Native Tongues fore-bearers, A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, The Jungle Brother & Queen Latifah, but their affiliations extended to Black Sheep, Monie Love, Leaders Of The New School, Brand Nubian, Common, Chi-Ali, Bush Babees, The Beatnuts, Mos Def & beyond. We’ll be rocking classics, album cuts, b-sides, remixes, guest spots, rarities, original samples and so on from all the members of the crew, all day and into the night on the Meadowlark’s incredible patio.

Sunday, 5/19 -> Goodness w/DJ Low Key and special guests DJ Bedz (Denver Nuggets DJ), Spyda T.E.K. (CO Springs) & Truth Live (The Bay Area) on the Meadowlark’s patio…

SUNDAY, 5/19 at 3pm ->  Goodness continues on in grand fashion with another super dope DJ lineup, this time with Denver Nuggets team DJ, DJ Bedz, Los Angeles-bred DJ/producer Spyda T.E.K. and the Bay Area’s Truth Live joining me on the turntables.  DJ Bedz spins in front of hundreds of thousands of people every year, but rarely gets to flex his deep crates like this, 2013 Solution Beat Battle Spyda T.E.K. has been working on original remixes & mashups for his set and Truth Live is making a tour stop in Colorado just to rock for us.  All three guests should make me step my game up and that should make for another great Sunday of music on the Meadowlark’s incredible patio.  No Que No Tacos Y Mariscos will be cooking up food and on the drink side of things, we’ll have Jessica the Solution Bartender and Tara serving three delicious flavors (strawberry, pineapple & watermelon) of agua frescas con Svedka and a whole lot more.  2701 Larimer St/ No Cover / 21+.

SUNDAY, 5/12 at 3pm -> I love you Denver, and I can’t thank you enough.  Despite an overcast afternoon and weather in the 50s making me nervous, Cinco De Goodness, the 2013 Goodness w/DJ Low Key & friends kickoff party, was packed and INCREDIBLE!!!  A ton of familiar faces came through, the vibe was as perfect as we all remembered and smiles were had all the way around on the Meadowlark’s beautiful patio, just like we’d been looking forward to.

Goodness returns this weekend with Sunday’s forecast calling for a more proper mid 70s and featuring two of my favorite DJs; Houston fixture Dayta (Kracker Nuttz / Good Good Fridays) and Solution co-founder DJ Sounds Supreme joining me on the turntables.  No Que No Tacos Y Mariscos will be back with an expanded menu and on the drink side of things, we’ll be featuring three flavors of our signature agua frescas con Svedka that your momma will love.  Jessica the Solution Bartender and Tara will be serving your drinks with a smile, the music will be incredible and it’s should be another borderline flawless Sunday afternoon at Goodness; hopefully we’ll see you out!  2701 Larimer St / No Cover / 21+.

Sunday, May 5th -> Cinco De Goodness w/DJ Low Key, DJ Chris Karns, DJ Largechild & DJ Dozen on the Meadowlark’s patio to kick off the 2013 season! Food by No Que No Tacos Y Mariscos, Agua Frescas & more…

SUNDAY, 5/5 at 3PM -> It’s here!  Goodness w/DJ Low Key & friends, my Summertime party on the Meadowlark’s beautiful patio is back for the 2013 patio season!!!  Last year, Goodness got off to an unbelievable start, with a ton of great people, top notch music, refreshing, delicious tacos & assorted randomness coming together like magic every weekend.  Now we’re back for 2013 and kicking things off with an all-star DJ lineup including world renowned DJ Chris Karns, underrated Lipgloss resident DJ Largechild, Welcome To The D.O.P.E. Game’s DJ Dozen & myself.

On the food tip, El Chingon and Chef David Lopez (aka DJ Psycho), who did tacos for us last year, are opening their new location at 44th & Tennyson (go check it out!) and unfortunately they’re not going to be able to do tacos for us this season.  With that said, we’re bringing in No Que No Tacos & Mariscos to do food for the 2013 Summer season.  No Que No has an actual food truck and will be able to serve a bigger menu than we offered last year (including fried foods!), so expect a wider variety of delicious options for your patio dining pleasure.  On the drink side of things, we’ll still be featuring our signature agua frescas con Svedka with a few new surprises for 2013.  It’s gonna be an incredible Summer at Goodness, hopefully you can join us!  2701 Larimer St / No Cover / 21+.

Saturday, 10/13 from 2-9PM -> End of the Patio Season Goodness w/DJ Low Key & friends, El Chingon Tacos and more on the Meadowlark’s patio…Don’t miss the last patio party of 2012!!!

SATURDAY, 10/13 from 2-9PM -> I knew this day was coming, but it doesn’t make things any easier.  It’s almost mid-October, the forecast is for high-60s and we’ve got just enough time and good weather for one last Goodness on the Meadowlark’s incredible patio before we call it a wrap for the 2012 patio season (but don’t worry, we’ll be back in mid/late Spring).  With that said, please join myself, a few guest DJs (lineup coming soon) and the homies from El Chingon as we celebrate a first season that went better than any of us could have hoped for.

On that note, I want to thank each and everybody who came through Goodness this Summer/Fall, the vibe was basically perfect the whole time and that wouldn’t have been possible without the love, support and patronage of an amazing variety of people (maybe most diverse party in Denver? I dunno if that’s the case, but I heard people saying it every week).  Hopefully we’ll see all of y’all out for the season’s closer.  More details at @feel_goodness/21+/No Cover/2701 Larimer St.

P.S. The heaters are now back on the patio so when the sun goes down we should be good.  I’d bring a hoodie if you show up late, just to be safe.

P.P.S. I’m working on a few other cool new concepts for this Fall/Winter, so add me on facebook, follow me on twitter, catch me on tumblr, join the e-mail list at the top right corner of this page, etc so you can stay in the loop from here on out.
