Saturday, 10/13 from 2-9PM -> End of the Patio Season Goodness w/DJ Low Key & friends, El Chingon Tacos and more on the Meadowlark’s patio…Don’t miss the last patio party of 2012!!!

SATURDAY, 10/13 from 2-9PM -> I knew this day was coming, but it doesn’t make things any easier.  It’s almost mid-October, the forecast is for high-60s and we’ve got just enough time and good weather for one last Goodness on the Meadowlark’s incredible patio before we call it a wrap for the 2012 patio season (but don’t worry, we’ll be back in mid/late Spring).  With that said, please join myself, a few guest DJs (lineup coming soon) and the homies from El Chingon as we celebrate a first season that went better than any of us could have hoped for.

On that note, I want to thank each and everybody who came through Goodness this Summer/Fall, the vibe was basically perfect the whole time and that wouldn’t have been possible without the love, support and patronage of an amazing variety of people (maybe most diverse party in Denver? I dunno if that’s the case, but I heard people saying it every week).  Hopefully we’ll see all of y’all out for the season’s closer.  More details at @feel_goodness/21+/No Cover/2701 Larimer St.

P.S. The heaters are now back on the patio so when the sun goes down we should be good.  I’d bring a hoodie if you show up late, just to be safe.

P.P.S. I’m working on a few other cool new concepts for this Fall/Winter, so add me on facebook, follow me on twitter, catch me on tumblr, join the e-mail list at the top right corner of this page, etc so you can stay in the loop from here on out.

Saturdays from 2-9PM until it starts snowing -> Goodness w/DJ Low Key & friends, El Chingon tacos & more on the Meadowlark’s patio…

Saturdays from 2-9PM -> For the last few weeks, people have been asking nonstop about my plans for Goodness w/DJ Low Key & friends as the weather gets colder.  The answer has pretty much been the same; “we’ll figure it out when Fall gets here”.  Well now that Fall is officially here, it’s time for an update.  Here’s the details:
1. In case you missed the announcement last weekend, we’re moving Goodness back to Saturday afternoons for the rest of the season for a few reasons, primarily because of Bronco/Peyton-mania, but also for an extra special Goodness event on Saturday, 10/6 (stay tuned for details, coming real soon) and more.
2. This weekend’s forecast calls for 74 degrees and sunshine on Saturday and next weekend is looking even hotter.  With that said, the party is going to continue on until it gets “too cold”, which is still probably 4-6 weeks or so away.
3. I’m also working on a few other cool new concepts for this Fall/Winter, so add me on facebook, follow me on twitter, catch me on tumblr, join the e-mail list at the top right corner of this page, etc so you can stay in the loop from here on out.
So just to reiterate, don’t miss Autumn Goodness w/DJ Low Key & friends, tacos by El Chingon and more on the Meadowlark’s ridiculous patio (2701 Larimer St) until the weather gets too cold.  Stay tuned to djlowkey.com & @Feel_Goodness on twitter for more info on the party and special events as we make the most out of the next month or so of nice weather.  Also, be on the lookout for a few cool weather specials as the Fall makes it’s presence more felt over the next few weeks. Rain or Shine /// 21+ /// 2-9pm /// No Cover.
Last but not least, here’s some humbling feedback on Goodness that helped us confirm that this Summer was unforgettable:

Saturday, 9/29 from 2-9PM -> Goodness w/DJ Low Key, DJ Large Child & BK Beats feat. PBZ, El Chingon Tacos, Brent Lyon’s Birthday Party & more on the Meadowlark’s patio…

SATURDAY, 9/29 from 2-9PM -> A few weeks ago at Goodness I shouted my favorite football team, who happens to be the Atlanta Falcons, the night before they were playing the Broncos on Monday Night Football.  I knew what would happen and like I expected, I ended up getting viciously booed at my own party by one of the coolest crowds in Denver (I’m from originally from Georgia, so I still root for team I grew up rooting for, how you gonna be mad at that?).  Well Broncos fans you already know who won the next night, but you won the war and due to the city’s Bronco/Peyton-mania, we’re gonna move Goodness to Saturdays until we close down for Winter, so you can have all of Sunday for the Broncos and the rest of the NFL and we don’t have to change to vibe of Goodness to feel like a sports bar (we will still have the one TV with college games though).

With that said, we’re getting things off to a great start on Saturday with a very dope edition of Goodness.  I’ll be joined by DJ Large Child, who I always knew was nice, but impressed me extra at the David Flores/Akomplice art shows we DJed at last month and Solution Beat Battle winner/recent Potholes In My Blog label signee BK Beats featuring PBZ as they celebrate the release of their Time Is Of The Essence EP.  We’re also celebrating the homie Brent Lyon’s birthday and if you know him, you already know he’ll be rolling with a fun crew.  As usual, El Chingon will be serving up delicious tacos, agua frescas will be flowing and the vibe just how you like it the Meadowlark’s patio, see you there!  21+/No Cover/2701 Larimer St.

Sunday, 9/23 from 2-9PM -> First Day Of Fall Goodness w/DJ Low Key, DJ Pat Allen, DJ Stretch & a surprise guest, tacos by El Chingon & more on the Meadowlark’s patio…

SUNDAY, 9/23 from 2-9PM -> Even though this Sunday is technically the first dayof Fall, Goodness is still going strong with another dope lineup and a forecast of 81 degrees and sunny as we make the most of the last few weeks of warm weather.  This time around I’ll be joined by b-boy/DJ phenom DJ Stretch from L.O.F. and DJ Pat Allen aka Boo Bear aka Breaka Breaka and if you know these two dudes, you already know it’s gonna be a fun one.

As usual, El Chingon will be serving delicious tacos, the vibe will be top notch and the people extra cool as we make the most the Meadowlark’s super dope patio before Winter hits.  Last but not least, just wanted to remind you that we’ve mounted a TV on the bar so you can catch the Broncos and the rest of the day’s football games at the party.  21+/No Cover/2701 Larimer St.

Sunday, 9/16 from 2-9PM -> The 4th Door x Goodness w/DJ Low Key, Lazy Eyez & Deejay Tense, Lazy & Dominic’s birthday parties, El Chingon tacos & more on the Meadowlark’s patio…

SUNDAY, 9/16 from 2-9PM -> Coming off the freshest wedding party ever (big up the homie Ben, Archi & B-Stee for bringing everybody through, what a cool crew), Goodness is back to celebrate a pair of important birthdays along with one of our favorite Denver culture blogs, The 4th Door.  The birthdays we’re celebrating are the birth of CO hip hop saint Lazy Eyez (I know he hates that title, but it’s true!) and The 4th Door founder/head honcho Dom Von Stephen Atencio (aka Dominic Atencio) and with music by myself, Deejay Tense (Crunk Brothers) & Lazy Eyez himself, it promises to be a day to remember.  If you’re not up on The 4th Door, head over to their site right now and familiarize yourself with one of the freshest blogs/sites in CO; full of culture, art, fashion, humor & sports content.

As usual, El Chingon will be slanging delicious tacos, the vibe will be second to none and the people extra cool as we make the most the Meadowlark’s super dope patio before it gets too cold.  Last but not least, even though the Broncos game is on Monday Night Football, we’ve mounted a TV on the bar so you can catch the day’s football games at the party.  21+/No Cover/2701 Larimer St.

SUNDAY, 9/9 from 2-9PM -> Fresh off our busiest Sunday & biggest guest yet (Pittsburgh legend DJ Bonics aka Wiz Khalifa’s DJ, who straight BLESSED the crowd), Goodness is back with yet another top notch lineup.  This time around, I’ll be joined on the turntables by Denver titan Cysko Rokwel (of Prime Element, DMC US Finals & Basementalism fame) and two of Kansas City’s top DJs, Archi & B-Stee aka 2/3 of the up & coming production team Secret Sauce for some Denver x KC Goodness.

Also, by popular demand, Opt Won will be back with his Doc Fresh Vintage Sports Apparel Pop-Up Shop featuring with all the dope Starter jackets & such that 80s-babies such as myself love (breakaways, windbreakers, sweatshirts, snap backs, satin jackets, etc).  El Chingon will be on the tacos, the vibe will be borderline magic and you should already know to get there early in the day if you’re trying grab a table before the Meadowlark’s super dope patio fills up.  Last but not least, we know Peyton-mania is at an all-time high, so we’ve mounted a TV on the bar so you can catch all the Broncos games at Goodness.  21+/No Cover/2701 Larimer St.

Friday, 9/7 at 8PM -> Goodness presents Michael vs Prince vs Stevie Silent Disco w/DJ Low Key, DJ Check One, Es Nine, Nofrendo & more on the Meadowlark’s patio…

FRIDAY, 9/7 at 8PM -> I’m super excited to announce this, I’ve been working to make it happen all Summer and it’s finally here.  We’re celebrating three of the best artists of all-time, silent disco style, on the Meadowlark’s beautiful patio, AT NIGHT!!!!!  Now’s a good time to familiarize yourself with what a silent disco is, if you’re not familiar.

Here’s the silent disco definition from wikipedia -> “Silent disco has become a common name for a disco where people dance to music listened to on wireless headphones. Rather than using a speaker system, music is broadcast via an FM-transmitter with the signal being picked up by wireless headphone receivers worn by the participants. Those without the headphones hear no music, giving the effect of a room full of people dancing to nothing. Often two three DJs compete for listeners. Silent discos are popular at music festivals as they allow dancing to continue past noise curfews.”

So basically you come into the patio, get a pair of special headphones and can tune into one of three stations, with each one with a different DJ playing a different artist; one all Michael Jackson and family, one Prince and crew, one Stevie Wonder and affiliated artists.  As the party gets a little closer I’ll announce the rest of the DJ lineup and who’s repping who, but trust, your ears are in for a ridiculous, surreal night of dancing to some of the best artists ever, on the Meadowlark’s incredible patio (which normally can’t have music after 10PM because of noise ordinances, in what has to be one of the biggest shames in Denver).

We only have 100 headphone so make sure you come out early, so you don’t get stuck waiting for a pair to become available.  The party starts at 8PM, it’s 21+ and the $10 cover gets you in the door plus a special set of headphones for the night.  Last but not least, we’ll be featuring $5 Red Bull & Svedkas and $2 Red Bulls all night long.

Saturday, 8/25 at 9PM -> The Solution Showcase #8 w/Chicago’s BrandUn DeShay, Bianca Mikahn, Black Jordan, DJ Low Key & Lazy Eyez at the Meadowlark…

SATURDAY, 8/25 at 9PM -> “It’s been a long time, we shouldn’t have left you…”.  After a scheduling issue in July and breaking from our formula to honor some of Denver’s best DJs in June, The Solution Showcase is back on track with another ridiculously dope lineup.  For The Solution Showcase #8, we’re importing infamous Chicago MC and producer BrandUn DeShay, the first lady of Denver hip hop Bianca Mikahn, criminally underrated producer Black Jordan (from Team Latchkey, fka Jay Gunna), myself and #COhiphop saint, Lazy Eyez (I’m sure he’s gonna hate that title, but it fits…LOL).

BrandUn DeShay is a classic double threat, having released numerous critically acclaimed mixtapes as an MC/producer while also doing beats for the likes of Dom Kennedy, Curren$y, Danny Brown, Von Pea, Mac Miller, Sir Michael Rocks (of the Cool Kids) & others.  Having come up in the group Paradox, Bianca Mikahn has been rocking mics on the Denver circuit with the Mercury Sauce collective for years, making quite a name for herself in the usually male driven hip hop scene.  Black Jordan , who’ll be celebrating the release of his Basement Instinct beat tape at the party, blew us away with his music at The Solution Beat Battle earlier this year and we’ve been waiting for the right opportunity to feature his production at the showcase ever since.  You probably already know about me and Lazy Eyez if you’re reading this, but if not, we’ve both been pushing quality hip hop for years in Denver, trying to make the kind of events we’d like to go to happen, while winning an award or two in the process.

Don’t worry if you’re not familiar with someone on the bill, a big part of The Solution Showcase is about discovering dope new music and we’ll be linking up music, videos and more info on all the artists as we get closer to the party. So stay tuned to DenverSolution.com to learn more about the performers and hopefully we’ll see you on 8/25! 21+ /// $5 Pre-sales now available at all three Family Affair locations & get you 15% off your entire purchase /// $8 at the door /// Doors at 9.

UPDATE: Meet BrandUn DeShay, our featured out of town artist for The Solution Showcase #8 on Saturday, 8/25 at The Meadowlark. BrandUn is an MC/producer from Chicago who’s worked with the likes of Danny Brown, Curren$y, Dom Kennedy, Casey Veggies, Mac Miller, Von Pea, Sir Mikey Rocks & more.

Saturday, 8/25 from 6-8pm -> BrandUn DeShay meet & greet + in-store w/DJ Low Key & DJ Dozen at Family Affair downtown…

SATURDAY, 8/25 from 6-8PM -> Before we head over to The Solution Showcase #8, me, DJ Dozen and Chicago MC/producer BrandUn DeShay will be heading over to Family Affair downtown for an all ages in-store appearance and meet & greet.  BrandUn wanted to make sure he got to somehow perform a few songs for his under 21 fans, so we linked up with our good friends over at Family Affair to make it happen.  I’ll be spinning, BrandUn will rock a few songs and you’re more than welcome to bring your little brother/sister and put them on to some quality hip hop.  Last but not least, even if you’re not familiar with BrandUn, you might be familiar with his work on projects by Danny Brown, Von Pea, Curren$y, Dom Kennedy, Mac Miller, Sir Mikey Rocks & others, so hit his wikipedia page to get up on his impressive discography.  All Ages/No Cover/2049 Larimer St.  Then after the meet & greet, we’re off to the Meadowlark for the main event, The Solution Showcase #8 w/BrandUn DeShay, the first lady of Denver hip hop Bianca Mikahn, criminally underrated producer Black Jordan (from Team Latchkey, fka Jay Gunna), myself and #COhiphop saint, Lazy Eyez.
