SUNDAY, 8/12 from 2-9PM -> Last week was the busiest yet (check the pic below) and the rave reviews keep coming in about how great the vibe at Goodness is, with everyone from randoms who lucked out and found us to Denver culture blogs to die-hard music heads saying it’s their favorite party of the Summer.  This week we’re back at it a with a Hawaiian twist.  Now I’m gonna be honest, my original plan, back before we partnered with El Chingon, was to have a pig roast and luau on 8/12.  I clung on to that idea as things got more and more complicated while trying to make it happen and ultimately, I had steer away from the idea when we learned that due to health code regulations, we wouldn’t be able to roast the pig on-site.  Never one to be held down, I worked with El Chingon’s Chef David Lopez to put together some delicious Hawaiian-inspired taco specials, along with pineapple and mango agua frescas, which is probably the next best thing to a pig roast in keeping with the Hawaiiian theme (and it also doesn’t scare vegetarians quite like a roasted pig’s head…LOL).

Beyond the Hawaiian food and drinks, I’ll be joined on your afternoon’s soundtrack by two very dope cats who I’ve never really had a chance to rock with, but always wanted to; DJ Wushu (Bass Crooks) & Kid Hum (Fossil Fuel Music).  Also, in keeping with the Hawaiian theme, we’re gonna give $25 in tacos and drinks to the person with the best Hawaiian shirt on, so come dressed proper and end up full with a nice buzz on us.  The misters will be keeping us refreshed, the music will be beautiful & the vibe bordering magic on the Meadowlark’s beautiful patio (2701 Larimer St), so come join us.  21+/No Cover.

SUNDAY, 8/5 from 2-9PM -> This Summer just keeps getting better and better.  Last Sunday at Goodness was the busiest yet, our guests blessed the crowd with amazing music and the vibe was damn near flawless.  This week we’re keeping the wins coming and teaming up with one of my favorite crews in Denver, The D.O.P.E. Game, for cocktails, music and more fun. D.O.P.E. stands for Don’t Oppress Positive Energy and these dudes are full of positivity, as anyone who comes out to join us for cocktails will soon see.

For Cocktails With The D.O.P.E. Game, I’ll be joined by the crew’s DJ, DJ Dozen, as well as the one and only DJ Squirt; two of my favorite young DJs in Denver.  Your friend Teej aka Turner Jackson and Denver’s favorite videographer Jeremy Pape will be your afternoon’s hosts, along with the rest of the crew, who’ll be hanging out on the patio all afternoon and giving PBRs to the first 50 people that come out.  As always, El Chingon will be putting other tacos to shame with their delicious assortment of carnitas, shrimp tacos & culinary magic while the agua frescas stay be flowing (this week’s special is Agua De Limon so think extra tasty lemonade, then think about mixing it with the strawberry aguas and try not to drool…lol).  The misters will be in effect, the music will be top notch & the vibe bordering pure nirvana on the Meadowlark’s beautiful patio (2701 Larimer St), so come join us.  Last not least, we’ll also be celebrating Phill’s Broncos & Bronsolini Birthday Bash, so if you see some girls going wilds to an Action Bronson son, they’re with him…LOL. 21+/No Cover.

SATURDAY, 8/11 from 6-9PM in Denver & SATURDAY 8/18 from 7-10PM in Boulder -> Catch me spinning on the Denver and Boulder stops of the Akomplice & David Flores CO Art Tour.  Legendary artist David Flores will be in the house for both, signing pieces and exhibiting his world renowned works, complimentary drinks will be flowing and word is Akomplice will have some of their collab tees on hand.  Catch me and DJ Large Child kicking off the tour at Family Affair in downtown Denver (2049 Larimer St).  Then on 8/18, me, Large Child & DJ Technic 9 close out the tour at The Root in Boulder (1121 Broadway).  Note: I will only be spinning on at the tour stops, not the after parties.

THURSDAY, 8/2 -> We’re excited to welcome acclaimed Chicago-bred artist Brandon Fox (fresh off of a feature in Unity Worldwide magazine) out for some live painting with acrylic and marker from 10PM to 1AM at The Solution Boulder at ‘Round Midnight (1005 Pearl St).  Me & B-Money will be on the turntables, spinning the best in hip hop, R&B, soul, funk, dancehall & more fun stuff, we’ve got $3 craft beer specials & $3 stoli cocktails & you already ‘Round Midnight sounds better than any club in Boulder. 10PM/No Cover/21+.

The Solution Showcase #8 update aka we’ll catch y’all on 8/25 + Catch Theo Martins (LA) & more for free at Goodness on 7/29…

So here we are, close to the 4th Saturday of the month and still barely a mention of The Solution Showcase #8…What gives?  Here’s what happened, due to a miscommunication between the Meadowlark and a charity event that was original scheduled for 7/28 (the date The Solution Showcase #8 was originally set for), the venue ended up being double-booked for a significant portion of the time that we’d be throwing the event.  Not being the type to argue with a charity, we decided to postpone the Solution Showcase for the month of July, but that’s not the interesting part of the story.

Here’s where it gets interesting. I had already booked the planned out of town guest for The Solution Showcase #8, Okayplayer favorite and Los Angeles-based, Providence-bred MC/DJ Theo Martins before getting the news and, having a great relationship with the Meadowlark & Red Bull, they offered to cover the costs of bringing him out so we added him to the lineup for Goodness on Sunday, 7/29 (I hope you already know about Goodness, my new weekly Sunday afternoon party on the Meadowlark’s beautiful patio /// 2701 Larimer St).

So now you can catch Theo Martins, rapping and spinning, as well as the original planned lineup for Goodness; myself, Denver legend DJ Chonz, the very dope and highly slept-on DJ Ear Attent and guest hosts Jessica Simmons (the infamous Solution bartender) and man about town DenverFrank in celebrating the 4 year anniversary of his infamous Denver culture blog, DenverFrank.net.  The lineup is stacked and in Goodness tradition, there’s no cover, so come on down for what promises to be a great day (and a good chance to win a Frank151 Denver Diggers hat). SUNDAY, 7/29 from 2-9PM -> We’re celebrating culture blog DenverFrank.net‘s 4 Year Anniversary with a ridiculous lineup at Goodness.  It’ll be me, special guests Denver legend DJ Chonz & criminally underrated DJ Ear Attent, guest hosts DenverFrank (the man himself) & Jessica Simmons (aka the Solution bartender and my partner at Fifty/50, your new favorite Sunday night party).

Also, due to a random set of circumstances involving The Solution Showcase #8 being postponed til next month, we’ll have Okayplayer favorite, LA’s MC & DJ Theo Martins performing on the mic and turntables too (!!!!!), still with no cover.  El Chingon will be holding us down with an incredible taco menu, mango is the agua fresca special for the day & we might have another surprise or two in stoee on the Meadowlark’s beautiful patio (2701 Larimer St). 21+/No Cover.

Every Sunday Night from 9PM-Close -> After Goodness ends on Sunday evenings at 9pm, the party moves down the street to Tryst (1512 Larimer St) for Fifty/50 with DJ Low Key & bartender Jessica Simmons (aka the official Solution bartender, who we used to say was more popular than us…LOL).  Fifty/50 features $2 canned beers for everybody, 50% off entire tabs for service industry employees and free shots for everybody at the bar for every 50 drinks sold!!!  That’s probably the best service industry specials I’ve ever seen, you already know the music will be on-point and Jessica serves up drinks with a smile and a little shit talking better than any bartender in Denver. Whether you’re coming with us from Goodness over to Tryst to wrap up the night or going out later and looking for the best music in Denver on a Sunday night; there’s no better place to be than Fifty/50. 21+ /// No Cover /// Starts at 9PM.
