Tuesday, 12/31 -> New Year’s Eve w/DJ Low Key at La Biblioteca! Only $60 for bottomless drinks & apps, party favors and more at one of Denver’s best new spots (attached to Zengo)!!!

TUESDAY, 12/31 -> 2013 has probably been my best year of DJing to date and I’m excited to be wrapping up in great fashion at La Biblioteca, the brand new tequila “library”/lounge/restaurant/sister space to Zengo at 1610 Little Raven Street (check out pictures here).  I’ll be on turntables spinning all that goodness you love, but the music’s only part of the fun; for $60 a person you get bottomless small plates and appetizers, plus some party favors to bring the new year (reservations required, call 720.904.0965 / Also, if you have dinner at Zengo before, entry for the NYE party at La Biblioteca is discounted).  Based on last year’s New Year’s Eve at Al Lado (Zengo’s previous sister lounge), things should pretty crazy and end up fully-booked, so make sure you make your reservations early for one’s of Denver’s best NYE options.

SATURDAY, 12/21 at 7pm -> A FREE benefit for Denver Children’s Home. So What! the Club believes in the power of music and we need your help to make a difference in the lives of some special kids. So What! has put together an all star band of musicians to recreate the best songs from the Jazzmatazz catalog all to raise money for Denver Children’s Home!

Who:
So What DJs Low Key, K-nee, Big Styles and of course our hostess Ms. Deirdre, BIG WHEEL ELECTROSOUL and some of our favorite Denver artists (full artist lineup coming soon!).

What:
A Benefit Concert for the Music Therapy program at Denver Children’s Home featuring all your favorite songs from Guru’s Jazzmatazz series.

Where:
Beauty Bar Denver
DOORS OPEN AT 7PM, SHOW AT 8PM

ADMISSION IS FREE! THAT’S RIGHT FREE! However, we strongly suggest donations to Denver Children’s Home at the event.

Why:
As you know music can help you deal with adversity, and in the case of the kids at DCH they are dealing with some challenges beyond just normal kid stuff. That’s why the music therapy program at DCH is so vital. The music program depends upon charitable contributions to operate and that’s where YOU come in!

Then at 10pm, things continue on at Beauty Bar with our annual Soulstice Holiday Party, a longtime So What! tradition that’s always a fun way to close out the year. After 10pm, a five dollar cover kicks in; so come out early, catch the performance early and put that $5 towards a donation to Denver Children’s Home or good drink to get the night started.

In case you can’t make the party, live out of town or don’t have extra cash this month, it’s all good, please help spread the word and know that our efforts to help Denver Children’s Home are going all the way through Saturday, 12/21 online (and really longer than that, but we’re trying to raise at least $3,000, and hopefully a lot more, for them by our annual So What! FRIDAY, 12/20 -> Lazy Claus is back!!!  That’s right, everyone’s favorite chimney hopping Asian DJ returns to The Solution and this Friday is your chance to get a pic with him (no sitting on his lap though, he’s got a girl!) at the Meadowlark.  Him & DJ Low Key will be rocking turntables and giving out gifts throughout the night, as we celebrate the holiday season and a great year in 2013.  We’ll also be welcoming our friends Karma Leigh, Xencs L. Big up the homie Scuba for sending me this pic and letting me know my name was mentioned in the incredible new RBMA For The Record book (as “Justin Green”, my government)!  Red Bull Music Academy is one of the best forces in the modern music scene and it’s been an honor to work with them over the years, so seeing something like this is just the icing on the cake.

Anyway, you should probably check it out.  Okayplayer called it their #1 must buy Black Friday item a few weeks back and said this, “1. For The Record coffee table book from Red Bull Music Academy: You are already familiar, perhaps, with Red Bull Music Academy’s steez. FRIDAY, 11/29 -> We’re super excited to be teaming up with our good friend Brandee Castle to introduce her fresh new endeavor, Judith & Joe Fashion & Records Truck.  That’s right, a mobile fashion, records & cool randomness boutique, in the tradition of food trucks and such.  Starting on 11/29, you’ll be able to catch Judith & Joe bringing all sorts of fresh goods to cool spots around town, but if you want first crack at all their newness, catch them from 6-8:30pm outside of Our Mutual Friend and then outside The Solution w/DJ Low Key & Lazy Eyez at The Meadowlark from 9pm-midnight.

The Solution is on Instagram & we’re adding an official photographer to the team! Introducing Armando aka Knower Of The Ledge!!!

If you’ve been following the party for a decent amount of time, you know that we rarely add anyone to the team.  Over the years, the party’s roster has included resident DJs Low Key, Lazy Eyez & Sounds Supreme, official/infamous bartender Jessica and the young homies DJ Dozen & B-Money during The Solution Boulder’s short run (also, huge shouts to honorary members like the cats at Family Affair, Akomplice & Denver Frank).

On that note, we recently made a HUGE addition to the team that we’re excited to announce and his name is @KnowerOfTheLedge aka Armando aka the first official Solution photographer!  He’ll be documenting all of our fun times at the party, and he’s already off to a great start.
