Saturday, 12/15 -> So What Soulstice Holiday Party w/DJ K-Nee, Big Styles & DJ Low Key at the Beauty Bar…Plus, I’m honored to be joining the legendary So What! crew on an ongoing basis!!!!!

SATURDAY, 12/15 at 9PM -> I’m honored to announce that DJ K-Nee & Big Styles, the founders of legendary Denver party So What!, recently invited me to join the crew after Peter Black retired earlier this year.  Starting with the annual So What! Soulstice Holiday Celebration this month, I’ll be joining the So What! crew on a monthly basis in bringing you the party at Beauty Bar Denver (608 13th Ave) plus other fun stuff and I can’t wait. Free before 11 / $5 cover after / 21+.

If you’re not familiar with So What!, it’s a hugely influential and progressive Denver party that’s been running since long before I got my first turntables and happens to be a HUGE inspiration in me and Sounds Supreme creating The Solution and really every non-top 40-based night I’ve ever started. Founded in 1993 (!!!) by DJ K-Nee and Big Styles (known as DJ Style N. Fashion at the time), So What! quickly added DJ Aztec (Peter Black of Analog Space) and hostess Miss Dierdre to the fold and has come a long way since being launched as “An Evening of Acid Jazz” at City Spirit and dominating Tuesdays for over a decade at venues ranging from 9th Avenue West/La Rumba to Rise to Lotus and of course, Rock Island, the place where I first had my first So What! experience. More recently, So What! has evolved into a monthly at Beauty Bar Denver and I’m excited to be a part of the legacy. Last but least, take a second to like the So What! facebook page to stay updated as the tradition of exceptional music continues.

Tuesdays at 10PM in Breckenridge -> Groove w/DJ Low Key at Cecilia’s Martini Bar & Dance Club…

EVERY TUESDAY AT 10PM in Breckenridge -> If you’re up in Summit County, don’t miss Groove w/DJ Low Key, a new weekly at Cecilia’s, Breckenridge’s top (and recently remodeled) nightclub. I’ll be spinning soul, house, funk, breaks & other feel good music on the club’s revamped sound system, the bartenders will be serving up  great drinks off a special half price top shelf cocktail menu & more fun stuff will be going on throughout the season.  21+ / 10PM / No Cover / 520 S Main St.

Friday, 11/16 & Saturday, 11/17 -> DJ Low Key x Portland…Catch me spinning at PDX staples Saucebox & Jones…

FRIDAY, 11/16 & SATURDAY, 11/17 -> I’m super excited to be heading to Portland for a long overdue first visit (seriously, it’s been at the top of my cities left to visit list for years!  Boston, you’re next!).  I’m playing two great spots on my trip (shouts to DJ Zimmie!), here’s the details:

FRIDAY 11/16 -> Catch me spinning new soul, R&B, breaks & more at pioneering PDX restaurant/lounge/institution Saucebox (214 SW Broadway).  Check out the details on the venue below and catch me DJing, as we work to bring you that perfect combination of exceptional music and incredible food.

“Saucebox has maintained its reputation in the city as the place for the finest in pan-asian and pacific island cuisine with its insider vibe and unique presence. Unforgettable dishes and innovative cocktails have given saucebox national notoriety in The New York Times, Bon Appetit Magazine, Travel & Leisure and The Wall Street Journal – but it’s local attention and accolades like being honored as “Restaurant of the Year” In 1998 by the Oregonian that make saucebox a landmark of Portland restaurant and lounge scene.”

SATURDAY, 11/17 -> Things get hype at Jones (107 NW Couch St), where I’ll be spinning 80s & 90s party jams all night.  Not just the typical joints though, we’re going deep into the crates, since it’s an 80s/90s themed club, and from what I’ve heard/read, it’s quite the dance spot.  Based on their rep and the quality DJs they have playing on a regular basis, expect me to pull out all the stops to make a lasting impression.  Also, in what’s possibly the most brilliant move ever, Jones serves breakfast, including chicken & waffles, after last call until 5am (Denver clubs, y u no hav brekfast?).

Urb says that of Colorado DJs, “the top of the pile would be DJ Low Key” in their Resident Advisor feature…I’m honored…

I don’t know how I managed to miss this when it was initially posted, but I came across this Urb Magazine feature when I saw people clicking the link in my site traffic a while back.  With that said, I’ve been reading Urb for probably a decade or so, so it was an honor for them to feature me as the Denver inclusion on their list of America’s Best Local DJs.

Disclaimer: There are a ridiculous amount of dope DJs in Colorado and the last thing I’m trying to do is ego trip and claim I’m the best.  With that said, it’s awesome that Urb decided to call me “the top of the pile”.  Check out the piece below or at Urb.com:

DJ LOW KEY (Denver)-
In a land where there are more DJs than emcees, Denver houses some of the best, and at the top of the pile would be DJ Low Key. Low Key has been involved in hip-hop mixtapes with everyone from Che Grand, Tanya Morgan, TiRon and Median. He also dropped The Solution Tape #1 mixtape, done with his partner DJ Sound Supreme to honor the weekly spot him and Supreme spin at every Friday night in Denver. He has also been Tanya Morgan’s tour DJ in the past. This former Basmentalism DJ is on the rise not just in Denver, but nationwide.
