Friday, 11/16 & Saturday, 11/17 -> DJ Low Key x Portland…Catch me spinning at PDX staples Saucebox & Jones…
FRIDAY, 11/16 & SATURDAY, 11/17 -> I’m super excited to be heading to Portland for a long overdue first visit (seriously, it’s been at the top of my cities left to visit list for years! Boston, you’re next!). I’m playing two great spots on my trip (shouts to DJ Zimmie!), here’s the details:
FRIDAY 11/16 -> Catch me spinning new soul, R&B, breaks & more at pioneering PDX restaurant/lounge/institution Saucebox (214 SW Broadway). Check out the details on the venue below and catch me DJing, as we work to bring you that perfect combination of exceptional music and incredible food.
“Saucebox has maintained its reputation in the city as the place for the finest in pan-asian and pacific island cuisine with its insider vibe and unique presence. Unforgettable dishes and innovative cocktails have given saucebox national notoriety in The New York Times, Bon Appetit Magazine, Travel & Leisure and The Wall Street Journal – but it’s local attention and accolades like being honored as “Restaurant of the Year†In 1998 by the Oregonian that make saucebox a landmark of Portland restaurant and lounge scene.”
SATURDAY, 11/17 -> Things get hype at Jones (107 NW Couch St), where I’ll be spinning 80s & 90s party jams all night. Not just the typical joints though, we’re going deep into the crates, since it’s an 80s/90s themed club, and from what I’ve heard/read, it’s quite the dance spot. Based on their rep and the quality DJs they have playing on a regular basis, expect me to pull out all the stops to make a lasting impression. Also, in what’s possibly the most brilliant move ever, Jones serves breakfast, including chicken & waffles, after last call until 5am (Denver clubs, y u no hav brekfast?).
South Broadway Soundclash teaser w/Stro Elliot…Don’t miss the event on 10/28!
SUNDAY, 10/28 from 8pm to Midnight -> Don’t miss the first South Broadway Soundclash, a celebration of beats, producers and music at Herman’s Hideaway (1578 South Broadway). We’ve got some INCREDIBLE beatmakers showcasing their newest works, favorite tracks and sample flips in a different type format.  For the #SoBroSoundclash, we’re featuring four of the best producers to ever come out of Colorado; LA-based, CO-bred titan on the beats Stro Elliot (of The Procussions), your favorite producer’s favorite producer Boonie Mayfield, master of the keys and Girlgrabber mastermind Q-Knox & perennial Denver favorite/Solution Beat Battle runner up Big J Beats (of 1984).
On top of that, me, Boombox founder/Basementalism legend Inka One & Welcome To The D.O.P.E. Game’s DJ Dozen will be on the turntables, spinning everything from rare grooves and classic breaks to afrobeat and beathead joints. LA’s Benjamite MC is our host for the evening, rounding out a top notch lineup, if I do say so myself. Saturday, 10/13 from 2-9PM -> End of the Patio Season Goodness w/DJ Low Key & friends, El Chingon Tacos and more on the Meadowlark’s patio…Don’t miss the last patio party of 2012!!!
SATURDAY, 10/13 from 2-9PM -> I knew this day was coming, but it doesn’t make things any easier. It’s almost mid-October, the forecast is for high-60s and we’ve got just enough time and good weather for one last Goodness on the Meadowlark’s incredible patio before we call it a wrap for the 2012 patio season (but don’t worry, we’ll be back in mid/late Spring). With that said, please join myself, a few guest DJs (lineup coming soon) and the homies from El Chingon as we celebrate a first season that went better than any of us could have hoped for.
On that note, I want to thank each and everybody who came through Goodness this Summer/Fall, the vibe was basically perfect the whole time and that wouldn’t have been possible without the love, support and patronage of an amazing variety of people (maybe most diverse party in Denver? I dunno if that’s the case, but I heard people saying it every week). Hopefully we’ll see all of y’all out for the season’s closer. More details at @feel_goodness/21+/No Cover/2701 Larimer St.
P.S. The heaters are now back on the patio so when the sun goes down we should be good. I’d bring a hoodie if you show up late, just to be safe.
P.P.S. I’m working on a few other cool new concepts for this Fall/Winter, so add me on facebook, follow me on twitter, catch me on tumblr, join the e-mail list at the top right corner of this page, etc so you can stay in the loop from here on out.

P.S. Also, make sure you check out The Crunk Brothers 10 Year Anniversary at 10PM Saturday, featuring a lot of our good friends and favorite DJs here in Denver at Tooey’s. Yes, I know they overlap, but both events are super dope and how could we not big up our homies. Check out more info here and try to hit both parties if you can:

Saturday, 9/29 from 2-9PM -> Goodness w/DJ Low Key, DJ Large Child & BK Beats feat. PBZ, El Chingon Tacos, Brent Lyon’s Birthday Party & more on the Meadowlark’s patio…
SATURDAY, 9/29 from 2-9PM -> A few weeks ago at Goodness I shouted my favorite football team, who happens to be the Atlanta Falcons, the night before they were playing the Broncos on Monday Night Football. I knew what would happen and like I expected, I ended up getting viciously booed at my own party by one of the coolest crowds in Denver (I’m from originally from Georgia, so I still root for team I grew up rooting for, how you gonna be mad at that?). Well Broncos fans you already know who won the next night, but you won the war and due to the city’s Bronco/Peyton-mania, we’re gonna move Goodness to Saturdays until we close down for Winter, so you can have all of Sunday for the Broncos and the rest of the NFL and we don’t have to change to vibe of Goodness to feel like a sports bar (we will still have the one TV with college games though).

With that said, we’re getting things off to a great start on Saturday with a very dope edition of Goodness. I’ll be joined by DJ Large Child, who I always knew was nice, but impressed me extra at the David Flores/Akomplice art shows we DJed at last month and Solution Beat Battle winner/recent Potholes In My Blog label signee BK Beats featuring PBZ as they celebrate the release of their Time Is Of The Essence EP. We’re also celebrating the homie Brent Lyon’s birthday and if you know him, you already know he’ll be rolling with a fun crew. As usual, El Chingon will be serving up delicious tacos, agua frescas will be flowing and the vibe just how you like it the Meadowlark’s patio, see you there! 21+/No Cover/2701 Larimer St.
