First off, big up to everyone who came out for the Akomplice Season 6 Release/The 400’s First Friday Afterparty last Friday at the Solution. The entire roof was PACKED with people gettin down to some good hip hop (courtesy of me & Sounds Supreme), Akomplice came through with some ridiculous new gear & of course the crew from 400 and featured artist Path One came through. I’m sure some pics will show up soon. Anyways, on to the next shit.

This Friday, June 8th-> Come check out a special performance from Blu (of Blu & Exile/Sound In Color fame) plus chocolate fountain & more from Hip Hop Chocolates. After crushin’ guest spots on Exile’s critically acclaimed Dirty Science album, tracks with legendary producer J Dilla, collaborating with KRS-One and having his leaked album set the internet ablaze Blu comes to the Solution to show Colorado what all the praise is about. Come check things out this Friday and catch one of the best new MCs to drop in years (dude’s album is easily the best I’ve heard in 2007). Check out my Mixing In Action #2 mixtape and Blu’s myspace to get a taste of how great this album is. And, of course, me and Sounds Supreme will be keepin the rooftop sounding nice all night long with the best hip hop & more. Needless to say, things are gonna be CRAZY. We’re gonna get things started at 9:00 with a cookout on the deck so come early and celebrate. Doors at 9:00/21+.

This Friday, June 1st-> Akomplice Season 6 Release Party + The 400’s First Fridays Afterparty

Step 1:Head over to the 400 (at 1010 Bannock) between 7-10 on Friday, June 1st for a great art exhibit from RIDICULOUS Denver based artist Path One. There’ll be free food & drinks (adult drinks, feel me), plus the best variety of limited edition shoes & gear in town. Make sure you tell some friends so they don’t hate later, when you’re tellin them how sick Friday was.

Step 2:While you’re at the 400, make sure you grab a pass for the afterparty at the Solution (In case you’re still sleepin, the Solution takes place w/DJ Low Key & Sounds Supreme every Friday on the Shelter’s rooftop deck at 1037 Broadway). The pass is good for free cover and a free drink, which you’ll want for step 3.

Step 3:Walk around the corner from the 400 to the Shelter’s rooftop deck for the 400‘s First Fridays Afterparty + Akomplice Clothing Season 6 Release Party at the Solution featuring a fashion show, performances from Akomplice artists Tonedeff & Copywrite, the best in hip hop & more from Sounds Supreme & DJ Low Key plus some other suprises.

So I know I’ve been slackin on updating the site lately but that’s only because I’ve been busy in the real world, here’s what I’ve been workin on ——>

First off, the Median’s Relief In The Making mixtape (mixed by DJ Low Key & hosted by 9th Wonder) should be coming out soon. I know it’s been a long time coming, but I promise it’ll be worth the wait. It’ll be available to download for free here at djlowkey.com & at the every cheap rap fan’s favorite site rappersiknow.com.

After the Median tape drops, next comes Ilwil & DJ Low Key – Beat Thieves 1.5 (Ilwil=Ilyas + Donwill aka 2/3rds of Tanya Morgan). Ilyas and Donwill originally dropped Beat Thieves as a rapper mixtape a few years back, but in light of their recent Tanya Morgan shine decided to re-release an updated version with some new tracks and me on the mix. The original Beat Thieves was great and Don & Il have just been gettin better, so make sure to keep an eye out for Beat Thieves 1.5 over the next few months. Also, Mixing In Action #3 (hosted by Free Speech & Ro Blvd) will be coming towards the end of the summer, be on the lookout for that too.

Back in CO, things have been busy on the club scene. I’ve linked with Denver mainstay Firelily to get down at a dope new spot called Sengers (on E Colfax between Milwaukee & St. Paul) this Thursday, 5/24. The club’s interior is sick and they’ve got a dope patio, so don’t sleep. 21+///Doors at 9///$3 Cosmos, $2.50 Stoli Press & $2 Bud Select.

Speaking of dope patios, the Solution with DJ Low Key & Sounds Supreme has moved upstairs to the Shelter’s RIDICULOUS rooftop patio for the summer and people are lovin it (you can catch us downstairs in the green room if it rains). Last Friday was packed, we had Never Summer artist Tree & his partner PZUS come through with some of their signature pieces for a showing that caught everybody off guard.

Next Friday, 6/1, we’ve got a sick double feature. As usual, we’re throwing the 400‘s First Fridays Afterparty (featuring the amazing Path One), so make sure you head over to 1010 Bannock between 7 and 10 to see the guaranteed dope art showing with free food & drinks plus the newest limited sneakers & gear. While you’re there, pick up a pass for the afterparty at the Solution, it’ll get you into the club for free plus get you a free drink. Then, head around the corner to the Shelter patio for the official afterparty, plus the Akomplice Season 6 Launch Party featuring a fashion show & performances by Akomplice sponsored artists Tonedeff & Copywrite as well as the same great music you always expect from me & Sounds Supreme.

As if that wasn’t enough, we’ve got acclaimed rapper Blu (Blu & Exile/Sound In Color) coming through to perform at the Solution on Friday, 6/8. His debut album, Below The Heavens, is the BEST record I’ve heard all year, hands down (buy it online 6/27 and in stores on 7/17). If you haven’t heard him yet, check out “Narrow Path” on my Mixing In Action #2 tape and prepare to be impressed.

Chicken & Waffles at the Solution this Friday:::Median (of the Justus League) on 4/27

Two 2006 Westword Best Hip Hop Nominees + Chicken & Waffles – the same old top 40 + the music of the west coast = 4/20 at the Solution with DJ Low Key & Sounds Supreme.

This Friday, 4/20, come by and celebrate the music of the west coast with complimentary chicken & waffles, that’s right, CHICKEN & WAFFLES (a Cali tradition), plus Gin & Juice Specials all night long. Better yet, come through early for no cover & $3 wells until midnight.

Then on 4/27, don’t miss the DJ Low Key & Median:Relief in the Making Mixtape Release Party at the Solution. Come check out a live performance by Median and get a free copy of the mixtape (mixed by DJ Low Key and hosted by 9th Wonder, yeah that 9th Wonder) before it hits stores and the internet.
