FRIDAY, 8/2 -> This weekend our longtime friend Opt Won of Chubby Robot is back at it again, bringing his Gutter Kids Art Show to Buffalo Exchange on S. Broadway for First Friday, and we’re excited to be presenting the afterparty at The Solution w/DJ Low Key & Lazy Eyez.

Gutter Kids features 20 of Denver’s top artists imagining themselves at Garbage Pail/Gutter Kids (all my 80s babies know what I mean) as well as music by the homie DJ Tense & Dr. Zilog and complimentary beer from Great Divide & cupcakes from The Shoppe (one of our favorites!), perfect to get your night going before you head over to the Meadowlark for The Solution.  We’ll see you there!!!  No cover untl 11pm / Only $5 after / The Solution kicks off at 9pm & is 21+.

Friday, 7/19 -> The 90s House Party w/DJ Es-Nine & DJ Discord x The Solution w/DJ Low Key & Lazy Eyez at The Meadowlark…Two of Denver best parties unite for one night!!!

FRIDAY, 7/19 -> By popular demand, we’re linking up with our friends DJ Es-Nine & DJ Discord of the renowned Crunk Brothers crew for another 90s House Party X The Solution w/DJ Low Key & Lazy Eyez collaboration.  That means 4 DJs, rocking all the best in 90s jams, all night.  If you’ve been to any of our other 90s collabs, you already know it’s gonna be crazy.  See you there!  No cover until 11pm, $5 after / 21+ / 9pm.

Friday, 6/21 -> DJ Low Key’s Birthday Party at The Solution w/DJ Lazy Eyez, a special suprise guest host & more at the Meadowlark!!!

FRIDAY, 6/21 -> Keeping this one short & sweet.  It’s time to celebrate Solution co-founder DJ Low Key’s birthday again.  Him and Lazy Eyez will be on the turntables at the Meadowlark (2701 Larimer St), we have a special surprise guest host & more.  That said, if you know, you know and we’ll see you there!!!  9pm / No cover til 11pm / Only $5 after.

Friday, 5/31 -> Special guest Maker (Chicago / of Qwel & Maker) at The Solution w/DJ Low Key & Lazy Eyez at the Meadowlark, presented by You Like This!

FRIDAY, 5/31 -> We’re excited to be partnering up with You Heard This to bring Chicago DJ/producer Maker out to The Solution for a DJ set at the Meadowlark.  Maker’s probably best known for his work with partner Qwel and Greyskull crew, but also spins parties all around the country, rocking a variety of styles.  Catch him joining The Solution’s own DJ Low Key & Lazy Eyez on the turntables for what should be another great Friday at “our town’s longest-running and most revered hip-hop night” (c) Westword 2013 Best Of Denver.  Shouts to Mane Rok.  9pm / 21+ / No cover til 11 / $5 after / 2701 Larimer St.

Friday, 5/24 -> Carl Carrell Listening+Birthday Party & The Cluck Truck at The Solution w/DJ Low Key & Lazy Eyez at the Meadowlark…

FRIDAY, 5/24 -> Time for another busy Friday night filled with great music and more at The Solution w/DJ Low Key & Lazy Eyez.   Things are kicking off early with a 9pm listening party for good friend of the party and one of Denver’s best kept secrets, Carl Carrell.  Carl’s been coming to the party for years, always mentioning that he’s working music, but rarely giving us much to listen to until just recently, when he sent DJ Low Key a collection of demos that blew him away, some of which we’ve been playing at the party lately to great responses.  In conjunction with Carl’s birthday (and in advance of his Solution Showcase performance next month, along with Brooklyn’s own Tanya Morgan, DJ Matt Cassidy & more), we’re going to give Denver a sneak preview of his upcoming CRL CRRLL project that you won’t want to miss.  From there, it’s full on celebration time the Meadowlark (2701 Larimer St), with the best in hip hop and a lot more on the speakers to groove to, drinks flowing and food by The Cluck Truck, easily one of the tastiest food trucks in town.  21+ / 9pm / Complimentary photo booth / No cover til 11 / $5 after.

Friday, 5/10 -> The Solution x Good Good Fridays w/DJ Low Key, Lazy Eyez & special guests Dayta (Houston/Kracker Nuttz/Nana Chill) & DJ Clockwork (Cincinnati/Most Dope/Mac Miller’s DJ) at the Meadowlark…One of Houston’s best parties brings its flavor to Denver!!!

UPDATE:  Just got word that friend of the party, Cincinnati’s DJ Clockwork, will be in Denver this weekend, so we added the Most Dope DJ to the bill.  Besides being Mac Miller’s DJ and part of the Most Dope crew, Clockwork did time as Reflection Eternal’s DJ and is one hell of a party-rocker himself (you might have caught him rocking at our jam packed four year anniversary party a while back).  Him, plus Dayta & your Solution DJs should make for an incredible night of music, see you there!!!

FRIDAY, 5/10 -> We’re super excited to welcome one of my favorite DJs out right now, Houston’s own Dayta, to Denver as we collab with Good Good Fridays, his very dope like-minded party to The Solution. Dayta throws Good Good Fridays with another super dope DJ, Klinch, every Friday night at The Flat, one of Houston’s most highly regarded spots amongst music lovers.  Every week, they bring a ridiculous variety of what they describe as “That Good Good Music” to one of the country’s biggest cities and back in 2011, we partnered up with them for the first ever out of state Solution event (check it out here).  We’ve been wanting to bring a taste of Good Good Fridays to Denver ever since and we’re excited to finally make it happen!  Me & Lazy Eyez will be joining Dayta on the turntables as we bring some undeniably dope Houston flavor to the Meadowlark (2701 Larimer St). 21+ / 9pm / No cover til 11 / $5 after. – DJ Low Key

Friday, 4/19 -> Special guests DJ Slopfunkdust (Phoenix) & DJ Dielekt (Las Vegas) at The Solution w/DJ Low Key & Lazy Eyez at the Meadowlark…

FRIDAY, 4/19 -> We’re back at it for another round of the best in hip hop and everything else great at The Solution w/DJ Low Key & Lazy Eyez and this week we’re welcoming two special out of town guests, DJs Dielekt (Las Vegas) & Slopfunkdust (Phoenix) to join in on the fun at the Meadowlark.  Slopfunkdust is founder of the high regarded Beat Fanatic crew, which originally featured the likes of Nicolay, !llmind & Rhettmatic and who’s Beat Society events have been some of the country’s best producer-oriented events over the last decade or so.  A respected producer and DJ himself, you can catch Slop on the turntables in Phoenix and traveling around the country spinning a ton of fantastic music.  Kool DJ Dielekt holds things down in Vegas at Sunday Skoolin’ and various spots around the city, working to bring some balance to the music scene in The City Of Sin.  Catch them both rocking on the turntables with The Solution’s own DJ Low Key & Lazy Eyez for what should be another fantastic night.  Delicious food by Year Of The Snake/21+/9pm/No cover until 11/Only $5 after/2701 Larimer St.

Friday, 3/29 -> The Art of Records II Closing Party at The Solution w/DJ Low Key & Lazy Eyez at the Meadowlark…Don’t miss your last chance to check out the acclaimed art show!

FRIDAY, 3/29 -> It breaks our hearts to say it, but The Art Of Records II’s run at the Meadowlark will be wrapping up shortly, but not before we take one last Friday night at The Solution w/DJ Low Key & Lazy Eyez to celebrate the amazing art by an all-star lineup of Denver artists.  The show, co-curated by Dunn the Signtologist and DJ Low Key, features some of the city’s top artists flipping classic hip hop albums covers in all sorts of fantastic ways and some of the pieces have already sold, so this will be your last chance to check this great collection of art.  Here’s two top notch recaps of the show’s ridiculous opening night and a little sample of what the show looks like (through the lens of Terrence Duncan), plus more info on the concept. Delicious food by Year Of The Snake/21+/No cover until 11/Only $5 after/2701 Larimer St.

About The Art Of Records II: Over the last few decades album art has gone from a 12” canvases to a 2” screens, and that’s usually the best-case scenario for the often incredible art that accompanies music releases.  Landmark albums like A Tribe Called Quest’s Low End Theory, Nas’s Illmatic and De La Soul is Dead have instantly recognizable covers that are embedded in music and art lovers’ psyches forever, but the 12” as a canvas has become a rarity in the public eye.  Everyone from music and art lovers to average people on the street still connect to both the album art and 12” format, yet we rarely take the time to honor the truly great ones.  The Art Of Records is an exhibit that aims to do just that; focusing on the legacy of exceptional art accompanying exceptional music and the idea of introducing both to a new generation.

The Art Of Records combines art, music and tradition to celebrate and honor the rich history and mystique of record cover art, 12″ vinyl and the artists that create it (both musically and graphically). Curated by Dunn the Signtologist and DJ Low Key, the exhibit features a series of classic 12″ album and single covers re-imagined and recreated by top artists in Denver.  The 12” covers will also be on display and the concept comes full circle with DJ Low Key playing an all vinyl set of the featured records as the night’s soundtrack.

Friday, 3/22 -> The Solution w/DJ Low Key, Lazy Eyez and special guests A-L & DJ Meezy (SF)…Plus Denver DMC ticket giveways, The Art Of Records II, food by Year Of The Snake & more at the Meadowlark…

FRIDAY, 3/22 -> All sorts of fun stuff going on at The Solution w/DJ Low Key & Lazy Eyez at the Meadowlark (2701 Larimer St) this week.  First off, we’re linking up with talented CO producer/DJ A-L to celebrate his Final Vinyl release, who’s gonna rock a special performance for y’all.  A-L (aka Aaron Ladley) has been steadily paying dues on the Colorado hip hop scene for years; DJing, making beats and working with the Eclipse Show, before dropping his latest project,  Future Classic Music, which features the likes of hip hop legends Ed O.G. and Craig G, exceptional NC rapper Kam Moye and well known CO artists such as Mike Wird, Fast 4Ward, MC Subcon, Niek Rocka & more.  Here’s a taste of the heat he’s bringing, make sure you come out early to check his set.

After A-L rocks, we’re gonna give away some tickets to this year’s Denver Regional DMC w/Pete Rock & Rob Swift (which takes place this Saturday, 3/23) and kick things into party mode.  DJ Low Key’s back in town, fresh from throwing our ridiculous SX704 Solution Showcase down in Austin during SXSW, and he’s brought a ton of great new music to spin.  Also, there’s only two Fridays left to catch the acclaimed Art Of Records II show before it comes down for good, so definitely make sure you stop in the Meadowlark to see it in person (Biggie by Thomas Evans from The Art Of Records II below).  Check out the pics from the show’s opening via Westword/Ken Hamblin HERE & show recap via the show’s co-curator Dunn The Signtologist HERE.

Last but not least, Year of the Snake will be on-site cooking up some tasty treats (their Vietnamese XXXL wings pictured below) & Introducing w/DJ Low Key kicks off at 5pm if you’re looking to get an early start on the evening.  See you then!

JUST ADDED: We found out San Francisco tastemaker DJ Meezy is gonna be in town this weekend and added him to the bill.  Meezy’s a part of BlindIForTheKids.com, one of the freshest blogs online (just ask Kanye), stays playing top quality hip hop, soul & more around the Bay area and always hits up The Solution when he comes to Denver, so make that one more great reason to come out!
