FRIDAY, July 11th -> So here’s the deal. Friday is gonna be RIDICULOUS. It starts like this, stop by Speakeasy (70 Broadway) from 6 to 9 to check out Manik Skateboards Pushin’ III, a CRAZY event complete with a dope skateboard art showing, ramps for a skate demo, a limited edition Manik x Speakeasy shirt release & more at one of Denver’s premier boutiques. After that head on over to the Solution w/me & Sounds Supreme on the Funky Buddha’s rootop early to check out the afterparty plus a listening party for the new Karl Hector and the Malcouns record on Stones Throw/Now Again Records. I’m sure you’re probably wondering who Karl Hector is right about now, well dude leads a band called the Malcouns that’s dope on the James Brown/JBs/Feli Kuti/Breakestra tip. Come through early on Friday to hear cuts from album and giveaways courtesy of Stones Throw Records & more.
Last but not least, since I’m heading out to LA to go on tour to DJ for Tanya Morgan alongside Hiero for a month, this Friday will be my last at the Solution for a month (I’m gonna miss y’all like crazy). Don’t worry though, Sounds Supreme will be holding things down at Denver’s best hip hip night with weekly special guests like DJ Chonz, DJ Squirt & more every week. I’ll still be posting upcoming parties and events on here with tour updates & more, so definitely stay tuned. And of course, when I get back, it’s so on, but in the meantime come out and have a drink with me on Friday before I head off to LA to start the Freshly Dipped tour. 2008 is a MONSTER.
