Right after it was first announced that Ghostface & MF Doom were linkin up, the internet went nuts for a snippet of an AMAZING song called “Charlie Brown” on the Fishscale sampler. Between a dope Doom beat, top notch insanity on the verses from Tony Starks & an awesome hook (“hey hey/what you say/this is real hip hop on the line today/it’s worth more than any label or what they pay/I’m here to save hip hop ’cause it’s dying away), the whole track banged. Fast forward a few years and the original “Charlie Brown” never ended up getting an official release, then a couple months back it popped up as a collection of remixes courtesy of Scion. I stumbled onto the remixes right around SXSW and had been playing them out some, then the homey Berk (who was involved in the the project) sent me an e-mail asking me to pass along the remixes to y’all the other day.
