FRIDAY, 4/18 -> Infamous beat box legend & Roots affiliate, Rahzel the Godfather of Noyze & DJ JS-1 will join me, Sounds Supreme & more at Vinyl’s Refresh Fridays for another night of madness at Vinyl/1082 Broadway/$15 for 18+/$10 for 21.

Then on Friday, 4/25 -> Catch Rhymefest, Strange Fruit Project, DJ Low Key, Sounds Supreme & more at the official Family Affair (a fresh new clothing store/salon at 19th & Wazee downtown) Grand Opening Afterparty at Vinyl’s Refresh Fridays. Thursday, 4/10->Jessica’s (the official Solution bartender) Birthday Party at the Solution w/DJ Low Key & Sounds Supreme

THURSDAY, 4/10 -> Maybe you’ve hit on her after she made you a few drinks (or maybe before, let’s be honest here guys), maybe she’s your girl from back when we first started the Solution at the Shelter (she’s pretty much been down since day one) or maybe you just know there’s a hot bartender at the Funky Buddha who can talk shit with the best of them. Regardless, if you come to the Solution w/me & Sounds Supreme, then I’m sure know Jessica, our official bartender. She pours great drinks, probably knows more dope hip hop ish than you do and sometimes me & Sounds think she’s more popular than us at the night we started (she probably is…lol…but that’s how we know her party is gonna be RIDICULOUS). Anyways, come celebrate her birthday at the Solution with a “Beauty & the Geek” party so come out in your best beauty & geek themed gear. We’ll have some prizes for the top outfits and of course, the best hip hop in town. On the Funky Buddha’s Roof/776 Lincoln/21+/Never a cover.

We had to rebuild the DJ booth using Red Bull cases & plexiglass to get everything setup battle style for Q…It’s not quite the Red Bull DJ booth but it worked fine for the night…

Highlights & pics from the Pete Rock show…

-I tried to give Pete a copy of the mixtape that me, 9th Wonder & Median dropped last year and he said “oh shit, that’s you?” and that he already had it (!!!!!!!!!!!!)…

-Pete was playin all wax and kept gettin AWFUL feedback in the spot where the club set him up to spin so we had to move him to the regular DJ booth 10 minutes into his set..The crowd kept rockin’ with us though and everything worked out fine…

-There were a bunch of heads in the crowd that got all hyped when I played Tanya Morgan “Walk My Way” and Phonte & Spinna’s great Jay Dee tribute “Dillagence” before Pete came on…There was one group of people who started jumping up & down screaming “TANYA MORGAN!!! TANYA MORGAN!!!” and all of them (guys & girls) sang every last word of the song while jumping up and down…it was AWESOME, word to my boys Don, Von, Il & Aeon…

Big up Westword (especially Jon, Dave & Quibian) for naming us the “best hip hop night in Denver” in their annual “Best Of” issue and even more importantly, thanks for all the love and support you’ve given us over the last 13 months Denver. If it wasn’t for the heads coming through every week, then the dope music we play wouldn’t even matter. And if you’re in CO and haven’t been by the Solution, make sure you come check us out every Thursday on the Funky Buddha’s RIDICULOUS rooftop.
