Coming Soon->Mixtape with Median & 9th Wonder + Win Little Brother Tickets
It’s been a long time coming, but Median of the Justus League’s debut album, Relief, is finally set to drop this summer on Halftooth Records. From what I’ve heard, the album will be RIDICULOUS. With that said, Median and Halftooth were kind enough to hit me up to mix the promo mixtape for the album (guess they liked MIA #1). The free tape will feature a mix of new joints, older songs, remixes and guest appearances that will put even the most hardcore Justus League fans onto some new stuff. So stay tuned to the site for more info (and oh yeah, some dude named 9th Wonder is gonna host the tape). Also, Che Grand & DJ Low Key:The Fixtape should be dropping next week so keep an eye out for that.
In other DJ Low Key/JL news, I’ll be opening for Little Brother at the Fox Theatre on April 4th. I know how much y’all like free shit, so I got a few pairs of tickets to giveaway. E-mail contests@djlowkey.com with the names of the two MCs in Little Brother for a chance to win. If you’re not feeling so lucky, presales for the show are only $13 and I promise you it’ll be well worth it.

2/16 -> Fantastic: The Official J Dilla Tribute Party at the Solution

Black Milk Interview: “You can’t make that real shit no more, scratch it/and take the easy way out and make some club records…”
Black Milk is on some next shit. He’s definitely one of the best new artists (he’s a producer/MC) that I’ve heard in years. From the Dilla co-sign to new joints with Pharoahe Monch to his own blossoming career as a rapper, Black has been paying dues behind the scenes for the last few years and is set to take things to the next level with his solo album, ‘Popular Demand’, set to drop on 3/13 (in honor of his Detroit area code). Download the interview and hear about how he linked up with Slum Village, workin with Jay Dee, the unreleased BR Gunna album, how he came up with the name Black Milk & more.

2 2006 Westword Best Hip Hop DJ nominees – the same old tired music + free mixtapes – pretentious attitudes = The Solution with DJ Low Key & Sounds Supreme at the Milk Bar.
Come check out a unique weekly night with fresh music, fresh concepts and more. But first stop by First Fridays at The 400 from 7-10 for an exhibition by Change The Thought aka Chris Cox with framed art prints, new clothing and complimentary food and drinks. The Milk Bar is located at 1037 Broadway in the lower level of the Shelter. But don’t take my word for it, come check things out on a Friday and see for yourself.

“International Low”
I just wanted to take a minute to shout out all of the sites and blogs across the globe that have showcased my projects over the last year or so, blogs from Russia to Australia and sites from South Africa to Poland and beyond. Thanks for the support, seeing people take notice just motivates me to grind harder. Props to Thicke Magazine up north in Canada, Spine Magazine in London and Superfly out of Italy too. Che Grand & DJ Low Key “Limited Edition (The Fixtape)” coming soon…
For those of you still sleepin, Che Grand is one of the nicest new cats in the game, period. You might have heard him on my Mixing In Action #2 tape, seen him rockin with Tanya Morgan and the LMM crew or caught his cameo in Chapelle’s Block Party, but now it’s time to get the full introduction. This tape is gonna be a collection of some of the best Che Grand joints from his earlier releases, some new exclusives and some fan favorites. Anyways, here’s Che’s description of the tape in his own words, stay tuned to our pages for more info….
“while i’m on the hunt for the cherry to put on top of the egu (note from Low Key: egu is Everything’s Good Ugly, Che’s new album, set to drop in early 2007 on Loud Minority Music) cake thats nearly finished baking, i’ve decided to hit y’all with a “fixtape”, its not quite a mixtape but instead my own concoction, a compilation of a few of your fave joints (and some unreleased) designed to be a “fix” for all the Grandkids till my album is done…” – Che Grand (hit up LoudMinorityMusic.com for some free music from Che)
