FRIDAY, 8/28 at the University of Kentucky in Lexington -> WRFL Back To School Throwdown featuring Tanya Morgan w/DJ Low Key, Loose Change + more at Red Mile Round Barn (1200 Red Mile Road), Cost $5 for UK students / $7 general admission, starts at 9PM.Â All ages.

SATURDAY, 8/29 in Raleigh, NC -> Tanya Morgan w/DJ Low Key, Kooley High, Blount Harvey & DJ Ill Digitz at the Pour House (224 South Blount Street), Cost $7 for pre-sales, $9 day of show, doors at 9PM. Â Â

P.S. While I’m gone this weekend, all of my weeklies will still go on the same as always, with some of my favorite DJs in Denver filling in for me.Â Of course, Sounds Supreme will be holding it down at the Solution with a special guest DJ on Friday.Â Then DJ Lazy Eyez & Amen will be spinning on Saturday at So Damn Down at Shag and I’ll be back on Sunday for Hapa Life (come by and hear about the shows over sake and sushi…LOL).

Che Grand’s Everything’s Good Ugly is out now!!! Cop that shit!!!!!

Che Grand is a RIDICULOUSLY talented rapper and good friend (how else could we argue so much and still be down…LOL).Â I’ve known dude for a little over three years and he’s been prepping his official debut,Â Everything’s Good Ugly, the whole time.Â In fact, right around the time I met Che he actually completely scrapped Conceptus Opus, his original debut album, and started from scratch on EGU.Â It’s been long trip, complete with numerous holdups, adversities and delays; so much so that Khal over at Rock The Dub even started a petition to get the album released earlier this year.Â Well Che, all of the hard work and patience has paid off. Everything’s Good Ugly is one of the best releases I’ve heard all year and the overwhelmingly positive praise has been coming in from all over.Â If you’re on my site, hopefully you already know Che and you’re sold on his music from our ’07 collaboration, Limited Edition:The Fixtape, but if not, head over to itunes and check out some samples of EGU before you cop it, you won’t be disappointed.Â Last but not least, check out the tracklisting, production credit & latest single, “Gold Chains (Part Deux)”, below and stay tuned for more DJ Low Key/Che Grand collabs in the near future.

Celebrate the launch of an exciting new Colorado-based video blog with an inaugural episode featuring one of Denverâ€™s most well-respected artists â€“ Dj Low Key (Radio Bums / Westwordâ€™s 2008 Hip Hop Dj of the Year).Â The episode will be played in its entirety throughout the evening and will be complimented by drink specials, free mixtapes, giveaways from Denver Made, The Shoppe and more.

Rap De Rap Show: In this article, Dante Ross discusses his relationship with De La. “I will never forget the first show De La Soul ever did, however blurry the exacting facts surrounding the event are. I recently caught up with my brethrensâ€”the De La Souls themselvesâ€”verified some of the hazy parts, and got my info fine-tuned. Hereâ€™s the 411. De La was the first group I was ever given the A&R responsibility for…whatever that means. Back then, it meant being the groups cheer leader / road manager / dude in the office they hung with. It mostly meant we made it up as we went along.”

Tasty Samples: “Everyone has their passions in life. For Maseo, itâ€™s clearly music, and more specifically DJing and producing. For Jarobi White, original member of A Tribe Called Quest, itâ€™s cooking.
