FRIDAY, 2/12 -> We’ve got the Food Chain, one of Denver’s best rap groups, guest hosting the Solution for a special listening party for their new album, Corpses, which features guest spots from Talib Kweli, Big Pooh (Little Brother), Chaundon & Joe Scudda, plus the single “Who Ridin'”.  The Chain has been dropping jams since bursting onto the radar last year and are definitely one of my favorites in town.  Check out the video below and recent Westword feature to get familiar with the Chain.

SATURDAY, 2/6 in NYC -> It’s hard to explain how excited I am that Dee Phunk and the Rare Form crew added me to the bill for Donuts Are Forever 4.  Their Dilla tribute is one of the best in the world and I can’t wait to rock a set there, in honor of the late great Jay Dee.  If that wasn’t enough, I get to join an all-star cast of DJs; Questlove of the Legendary Roots Crew, Brainchild, Parler & Tara, plus special guest host Guilty Simpson, video by Hot Mop Films, live art by Tatyana Fazlalizadeh and best of all, we’re doing it for Ma Dukes and the J Dilla Foundation, yeah, I’m beamin.  The party is legendary, the lineup is crazy and last year there was a line around the block to get in, so make sure you come out early to the Bell House (149 7th St, between 2nd & 3rd Ave).  Doors at 10 / 21+ / $5 minimum donation (more encouraged).  Last but not least, shouts to the party’s sponsors, Stones Throw, Fusicology, Okayplayer, Brooklyn Bodega, Frank151, Decon & Ladies Love.

SUNDAY, 1/31 -> Come celebrate the return of Sade with the official Soldier of Love Listening Party at Hapa Life.  We’ll be rocking the whole album early (it doesn’t drop til 2/8), plus I’ll be spinning the best in soul and R&B music, as well as a ton of Sade and D’Angelo (gotta celebrate Voodoo‘s ten year anniversary too).  If that wasn’t enough, we’ve got giveaways from the label, special Sade themed rolls and drinks (rolls listed below, drinks TBA) and our usual happy hour with select 2 for $7 rolls, $3.50 sake specials, 10% off for service industry employees & more, starting at 8:30.  All ages / No cover / Hapa Sushi at 2nd & Detroit in Cherry Creek.

FRIDAY, 1/29 -> Straight from Vegas, we’re bringing you a special guest set from DJ Phoreyz (of Get Back fame) at the Solution w/DJ Low Key & Sounds Supreme.  Phoreyz has been running things in Vegas for years, where he throws a ridiculous monthly that’s seven years old and has gotten props from Urb, the LA Times and Spin Magazine, to name some of it’s fans.  Don’t miss the rare chance to see him rock a soul/funk/classic hip hop set like only he can for free at the Solution.  The Funky Buddha’s rooftop (776 Lincoln St) / 21+ / No cover / Starts at 9.

THURSDAY, 1/28 -> Catch me rockin with Guru, Main Flow, DJ DTale & Izm White at the Akomplice/Isvera Winter X-Games Pary in Aspen at Syzygy (308 E. Hopkins).  Fashion show, giveaways and all sorts of other fun stuff too.  If you’re in Aspen for the X-Games, you don’t wanna miss this.
