I don’t usually talk about the shows I go to…
But I gotta mention last week’s ridiculous Rakim/Ghostface/Brother Ali show (props to DJ Styles & Fashion for the pics & Chonz on the list, Radio Bums in this). I’ve seen Ghost perform less inspired sets in the past and heard rumors that Rakim used vocal tracks, but both of them came correct for the show and CRUSHED it (maybe the dope live band, the Rhythm Roots All-Stars, helped inspire them). Seeing Rakim energized by the band was just AMAZING, dude is the god MC, “not on a list” (c) the 18th Letter, and finally seeing him in person was powerful. There’s still a couple more dates on the tour, definitely check it out if it comes to your town.

P.S. That’s me & Ghost backstage, you’d be cheesing all goofy too if you just asked him to hold up his chain for a better picture…ahahahahaha…I’m an idiot.

Saturday, 10/27-> Catch me downtown at Theorie
Maybe you read about it in the papers or maybe you’ve seen it sitting in the space that was the Denver Real World house. Maybe you’ve heard about it’s packed Saturday nights from a friend or maybe you go there every week already. Regardless, come check me out this Saturday, October 27th at Theorie downtown (1920 Market Street). It’s got a similar upscale, elegant vibe to what Bar Luxe had, but on a bigger & better scale plus with me spinning a diverse mix of soul, R&B, hip hop & more, things are gonna be dope.
